Who we are
Guildo is a Nigerian platform that helps people verify rental properties, discover trusted local service providers, and share community safety information. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it, in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR).
What we collect
When you create an account we collect your full name and email address. If you register as an Artisan, Agent, House Owner or Both, we also collect your National Identification Number (NIN) and Bank Verification Number (BVN), which are required to verify your identity, plus an optional business name. Content you submit — property listings, security reports, reviews and feedback — is also stored and shown to other users as described in the Terms of Service.
Why we collect identity data (NIN/BVN)
NIN and BVN are collected solely to verify the identity of Artisans, Agents, House Owners and Both accounts and to reduce fraud on the platform. They are visible only to you and to authorised platform administrators — never to other users — and are never sold or shared with third parties for marketing.
How your data is protected
Your data is stored on secured infrastructure with access restricted by role-based controls. Only you can edit your own profile, and only administrators can access identity verification data. Payment details are processed by our payment provider — we never see or store your card or bank credentials.
Your rights
Under the NDPR you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data. You can update your profile details in the app at any time, or contact us to request removal of your account and associated data, subject to record-keeping obligations.
Cookies and analytics
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and basic analytics to understand how the app is used. We do not use your personal data for third-party advertising.
Changes to this policy
If we update this policy we will notify you in the app before the change takes effect. Continued use of Guildo after an update means you accept the revised policy.
